Visual Novels: 26820; Tags: 2526; Releases: 66197; Producers: 9639; Staff: 19663; Characters. Summer Days is an alternate universe prequel to the game School Days, set in the summer holidays just prior to the timeline of School Days. What are the sprites originaly from? I can find that it's made by Elzee. From the other visual novel with the same characters, it's called 'An Elderweiss Resolve' by chocochino. But like, is there an originale game with these characters or are they free to be used for visual novels, that's all? Nevermind, I was too stupid to read.
About This Game StoryFollowing the deaths of his parents, Suoh is left without a home or source of income. All he has is his twin sister, Sara, who he promises to provide for, even if doing so means throwing his life away. Using the entirety of their savings, the two move to another city, wherein Suoh quickly finds work. Sara commutes to her old school, Suoh works long, physically-demanding hours, and the two survive off instant food, barely scraping by. It isn't a happy life, but they make it work. Or at least they did, until a violent outburst set into motion a rapid descent. Amid a physical altercation with his boss, Suoh blacks out, waking up to find a corpse laying at his feet. His knuckles bloody, his muscles aching, he realizes that he has just murdered his boss, the person responsible for his continued well-being. But rather than lament the loss of life, all Suoh can think of is how badly he needed the money, and what he'll do next to get it. Drawn by the scent of blood, one of Suoh's coworkers, a young man with criminal connections, offers him a not so legal revenue stream, one encouraging violent behavior and rewarding the capable. And from there, everything spirals out of control.DescriptionSickness is a visual novel developed by Zetsubou Games where you play as Suoh, a high school dropout who has been coaxed into a life of crime. First of all what is a Visual Novel? Simply an interactive novel we can visually see, end of! Is it considered game? Well yes because of it's 'interactiveness' and the perspective.
But yet the main purpose of these games is to leave a high emphasis of the story/plot. Even to make the player ambiguous of the ending as well. Depending on the Genre that is. I don't read books but visual novels do the trick for me.
Any who leading on-! So we have all got the gist of what a VN is. The setting and structure is common as seen below.
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
The main topic i will be talking about in this blog is the graphics. This will be split into three to understand their uses.
~Character (Sprite) + Background~
• This one is fairly obvious. You have the sprite usually in front of the background.
The sprite could change but using the same background and is usually a static image unless its some 3D game. Sprite and Background are separated from each other and is your bread and butter.
~CG/Special Full-Screen Image~
• CG abbreviated is Computer Graphic. Now your probably thinking BAKA NE! Of course its a computer graphic everything is! So why call it that? I guess you can call it some sort of recognised tradition within VN industry.
These are special full-screen static images. They are usually nice to see in a game and bring many reasons for one to occur. Some CG's may consist of two but with different facial emotions.
Another thing. CG's are usually listed within the title menu. If all have not been gathered then you might have missed a couple of scenarios.
One knows they have seen all possible scenes if they have acquired all CGs. But not every piece of text. Theres usually a list for this on the game, although some don't have!
~Movie/FMV~
• These are very common in Openings and Endings and maybe some scenes of a game where there is hype. This is found in all sorts of video games.
